The Effect of Training and Development on Employee Performance
Training
and development is an essential factor in any organization where training and development
can be defined as the process used by a corporate to enhance the performance
and skills
of its employees. Training and development is an educational activity

which includes information and guidelines to fill the existing skill and
knowledge gaps of the
organizations’ employees. To develop and effective training and development
program it is important
for the organization to analyze the skill gaps of the employees in the
organization.
Training and development helps to reduce the employee mistakes, while increasing the productivity of employees. These programs will be developed after analyzing the skill gaps which have become the reason for the mistakes that has been done by employees, since with these training programs it helps to reduce the mistakes done by employees and increase the performance of the organization. Training and development leads to creation of leaders in the organization (Ottawa.edu, 2022). In order to build a company for expansion and development, it might be crucial to target people with the aptitude for future leadership. Either present workers can be chosen as managerial candidates or new personnel with leadership skill will be hired to the organization. With training and development, the employees who are in the average skill level for leadership can be developed to handle leadership positions of the organization. Specially leadership training programs which are tactfully designed is important to achieve this purpose. With proper training and development employees will experience a higher feeling of independence, worth, and confidence (Ottawa.edu, 2022) in their job with the improvement of the skills and knowledge. It is easier for the leadership of the organization to win the trust of employees when they feel empowered at work. With training and development employees feel more autonomous and has the ability to make independent decisions regarding their job. Training and development also helps to boost employee engagement (Ottawa.edu, 2022) at work. Regular evaluation of skill gaps of the employees and re-evaluating workforce, competencies, and operational procedures reduce the boredom of work with ongoing involvement of training and development programs. When employees are more engaged with organization their performance inherently increases.
Finally, giving your team members the chance to learn new things, develop their abilities, and broaden their knowledge will help them get closer as a team (Ottawa.edu, 2022). They will take on fresh challenges together during these training and development activities. By working alongside colleagues who have particular areas of expertise, will exchange knowledge between each other increasing their performance. Moreover, it will help them rely on each other as well. Peer cooperation is considered as employees’ favourite mode of learning. Since likewise training and development helps the employees to develop their employee performance. To achieve these performance developments, it is important that the HR department of the organization design the training and development programs with pre-determined goals and objectives.
